  • Gauntlet needs a revamp!

    Hi everyone!

    This issue has been addressed before, but since nothing changed I'm going to write about it again.

    As the title says: Gauntlet definitely needs some kind of revamp.

    New-ish guilds and players can still tweak everything by playing around with the 4 difficulty settings, but for older guilds it's a mess.
    Even on Hell, when everyone is a powerhouse, you just need 6 people to complete the Gauntlet with no effort at all (2 players on each path alternating kills).

    The problem is that the wolves are not enough for everyone and that CDs are a huge pain in the butt. Instead of helping each other as a guild, it becomes a proper guildmate vs guildmate competition. Many people tend to ragequit after a couple of waves (if not earlier - I've done it myself).
    Furthermore, since everyone is free to play the way they want, some players end up being dense and hog the field. For instance, we had to beg - literally - one of the whales in our guild asking him to avoid defeating all 6 dragons in 1-hit in order to let weaker people gain some gold.

    Being one of the best (if not the best) sources of gold and guild honor, you can't just avoid Gauntlet hoping to gain those resources somewhere else.

    So my request is: would it be possible to modify it a bit to make it fun and useful again for all the people who take part in it?

    Some ideas:

    1) add a harder difficulty - or a couple - with stronger enemies. A lot stronger, please;
    2) the easiest thing that comes into my mind would be make it so the number of wolves sent with each way increases proportionally to the number of players who take part in Gauntlet (eg: 2 wolves for each players, so if 10 players join the Gauntlet, you get to defeat 20 wolves with each wave; number is calculated between each waves so no problem with people leaving early or joining late);
    3) add some kind of Frantic mode: the wolves come out at the same speed but all at once - it's just one big wave. All CDs are reduced to single digit. The wolves that manage to get to the angel, respawn at the beginning of a random path, until someone kills them <- I know it sounds stupid but with many beasts around it should be easier to hit at least one of them. XD

    And... that's pretty much it.

    I know there are tons of threads like this that have been ignored or forgotten but sometimes it's nice to dream that writing on the forum is actually worth the hassle.

    Best be nice if we get 2 set of wolfs per wave. Since time allows it, and like every 5 waves dragon respawn So all can get some dmg off everything, while at same time helping somewhat sort situation, but then again all improvment will only benefits strong ppl, weak ones still get nothing...

        Or make it still have 3 lanes and dragon/ wolf in each lane with no limit hp and give us like 20-30 min, to squeeze out max dmg

          Instead of complaining why don't you all just donate to your alliance to increase your lvl, then enemies becomes stronger, kick everyone who don't donate for less competetion

            That would make things worse since more br of guild more hp on monsters in gaunt, but yet again rather have few players who we trust , than back stabbers who just here to leech of dmg over weeker players.

              alot of ppl worked their *** to improve the wolfs hp by donating gold/dias even when they are f2p , most of threads like this are made by ppl that do nothing for their guilds .Remove the CD ? you want 1 player killing all wolfs ?

                Sorry for the late reply but I couldn't check the forum for a bit.

                Please, read carefully: I never suggested to remove CDs. I wrote about reducing them to single digit (eg: 9 seconds at max) and it was paired with the idea of sending out all the wolves at once, so that everyone would have increased chances to kill something.

                Anyway...

                Those you read above are just ideas and they might be a bit random but I included them as well because complaining for the sake of complaining is useless.
                As it is useless and wrong to make generalizations according to 'few' bad experiences.

                I play daily and I try to always do my best. I always donate to both my guild and my alliance for that matter. I do it every single day.
                Sadly, I'm also aware of the flaws of the Gauntlet atm. I tried to be thoughtful, I suggested something new and this thread is just my 'two cents'. I tried to change things - doesn't matter if I will succeed or not.

                What did you do, aside from telling me I'm a whiner?

                  There are no flaws in gauntlet, only thing is wrong with it that stronger people will go kill all the wolfs leaving weaker ones with less chance to deal dmg. Atleast during tycoon . MAking it 3 path Dragons with unlimited hp and give it 30 min time to squeeze out max dmg. Would be great for everyone.

                    what i meant is everyone donates to increase the guild level then monster hp becomes high, kick everyone who don't donate = less people in gauntlet,
                    even if the monster hp becomes lower it won't decrease that much, by losing the other member you get more kills too

                        Only way this coudl work is to use players to boost lvl then top 3 players of guild stay rest kick, best money from that. Else it wont change fact stronger people will kill over weak ones. 1 hitting dragons wolves, and lo player wont get any chance to max out their dmg

                          me: not even top 10 srerver-CoM and number 6 in guild and the wolves are too week for me

                              Stronger referring to more HP. Will increase the amount of damage you will deal and the more gold you get from mail.
